July 5th, 2019
So last week, for Mom's birthday, they went to the zoo at the end of the road. It's a little private zoo, but they have some pretty impressive animals. Mom mostly only has pictures of the petting zoo animals because they're the only ones that don't have a fence in between!
There were plenty of baby goats. I think I would like a baby goat some day. Mom says there is a very good chance that a baby goat would want to chew on me though, so I don't know if that's a good idea. Mom says we can have a baby plush goat though!
This pig was one of Mom's favorite parts of the zoo. She didn't really care what anyone did-- as long as she could nap. She slept through a lot of little kids, and just got up and moved when they annoyed her too much.
I hope you all are having a great week. Talk to you next time! (Hopefully on time!)

This is a screech owl. It turns out that there are a lot of different kinds of screech owls. I like looking up Wikipedia articles on the things I post, and it turns out that there’s over twenty different kinds! Mom said she didn’t know if he or she was angry that she took the picture or just surprised.
These are two giant Flemish rabbits. Mom thought that maybe some times you could pet them. (There weren’t any employees in the children’s zoo area when they were there.) Mom and Grandma have decided that they need to bring Graham to the zoo at the end of the road so he can pet animals!
It’s time to work on Mom’s daily stuff, so I have to stop here. I hope you’re all having a great day!

These are the giraffes. They were very friendly.
Even Graham fed them! Aren’t they huge! Mom was impressed how big they were when you were up close! Look how big his head is!
They were very friendly, and it made Mom a happy camper!
They also walked around the zoo. It was kind of cold and windy.
One of the peacocks was still willing to show off his fancy feathers.
Mom had a lot of fun, which is important for a birthday! Do any of you go to a zoo? We like going to zoos?

Mom’s sister works for the same company, so they wandered around together! It was sort of raining, but not too bad. I think some of the animals didn’t like the rain.
Look at this fine fellow. He talked to the little kids that were in the park. They gobbled right back at him.
Mom’s brother-in-law brought Graham. (He had to pick Sam up anyways!) He didn’t really seem to be interested in the animals, just walking around and playing in the mud!
Mom was hoping for a petting zoo, but there wasn’t one. The corn feeding dispensers were empty near the animals too.
We love animals, so this was kind of fun. Mom even got paid to hang out! She says that she’ll take the rest of us someday! I would like to look at the lake.
Have any of you been to a zoo? I think I would like to go!

One more bunch of zoo pictures for my blog! Mom loves taking zoo pictures! Next I hope we can share our pictures from Buttons’ visit!
My mom really loves horses, including zebras. Someday, we’re going to own one! (You can have pet zebras!) This one was very happy to pose for Mom’s camera!
Another creature that Mom likes a lot are koi. Last year, there weren’t any koi in the pond, but they returned this year. The water is very clear and makes for very nice pictures.
And lastly, a teenage camel. He’s been at this zoo for a long time. Somewhere on my computer I’ve got pictures of a baby camel!
I hope you all enjoy my zoo pictures! Mom took some pictures of my friends and I after the Buttons’ visit that I will share soon too!

Back to the zoo! Mom loves the petting zoo the most. We both love farm animals, but Mom loves to pet them. (I don’t think I ought to get very close to critters who like to chew on things!)
Mom loves cows. Well, she loves cows as pets! This little calf was Mom’s friend when she was there. She followed her around and started to lick at her purse and keychain.
It apparently tasted really good!
This miniature donkey followed Mom’s sister around. I love his ears!
This is a Polish crested chicken that Mom caught to show her sister how soft her feathers were.
This is a baby-doll faced sheep. They were pretty happy to just sit and enjoy the sun!
Mom says that we have one more blog post’s worth of photos, so there will be more soon! I hope you all are having a great day!

This is a Bengal tiger. He or she was lounging in the hallway between the two cages. It didn’t look very comfortable, but who would argue with a tiger!
This is a white Bengal tiger. I’m pretty sure it’s a boy named Kenny. I think this looks like a much better place to sit!
This is the lioness. She was also showing Mom and her sister her belly.
And finally this is the lion, with the very unoriginal name of Leo. He was showing off for Mom’s sister, who was very much impressed!
Next time, the petting zoo animals! (My mom’s favorite part!)

This is a blue and gold macaw. Mom likes big birds like this parrot.
This is a white or umbrella cockatoo. This guy or girl was talking to Mom and her sister.
This is a peahen. This bird kept on looking at Mom and her sister, closing one eye and then the other. Birds sometimes do this so their depth perception is clearer. She was basically doing it so she could get a good look at Mom!
This is an ostrich. Mom was surprised to see them. She’s been to the zoo lots of times and didn’t know that they were there. She had never seen an ostrich this close and was really impressed by their big dinosaur like feet!
Next time, we’ll post about the cats that live at the zoo!

Happy 4th of July everyone! For my American friends, it’s Happy Independence Day—and for everyone else—have a happy 4th anyways!
I thought I would share some of my mom’s pictures of the zoo animals that live down the road from us. My mom likes the farm animals best. Someday, I am going to be a little farming bear!
My mom loves chickens! This one has penciled feathers. It’s when the edges are a different color. A few different breeds of chicken can have these feathers, so Mom doesn’t know which kind of chicken she is.
This is the white Siberian tiger that lives there. There is also a orange one, and a lion and lioness. Sometimes, you can hear them roar for supper or lunch!
This is a miniature Zebu cow. Mom overheard the lady who was watching the petting zoo call her Zara. She wanted to be Mom’s friend.
This is a Khaki Campbell duck. It’s a girl duck because there isn’t any curly feathers at the end of her tail. Mom loves ducks the most. She would have liked to pet one of the ducks, but she knows that they don’t care for it. It was better to take pictures instead.
Another thing that Mom likes a lot is koi. They’re those fancy goldfish that can live outside. Unfortunately, it looked like the zoo got rid of their koi. They did still have the pond and the water lilies though. They were very pretty!
We could share hundreds of pictures, so I better end now!

Not much is happening around here that is worthy of posting about. Instead, I thought I would share some of Mom’s pictures from her recent trip to a nearby zoo. It is called the Northeast Wisconsin Zoo, and it is in Green Bay. She didn’t bring me—she says that I am too big to be carried all over the zoo—although I told her that I am much lighter then her camera or her purse!
These are koi, or Japanese carp. They were in a landscape/waterfall type thing, so Mom was able to get good pictures. I am not sure if she likes them because of the way she can get the nice pictures or their shininess!
This is a tortoise. Mom liked this picture because he was looking at her. Her new camera does a lot of things, but does not zoom in very well yet. (She needs to buy a new lens for it.)
This little critter is a prairie dog. They lived in an exhibit that didn’t have a fence on top of it, so Mom got to take this pretty picture.
This is Lucky, an albino alligator. Mom took this picture through the glass of the enclosure. She thought he looked kind of creepy floating there!
This was one of Mom’s favorite parts of the zoo. These are trumpeter swans. The adult swans produce a flock of babies every year that get released in Iowa to increase the wild population. This year, they did an especially good job of raising the babies! There are eight of them!
This is Blossom, a moose. She lives in an area overlooked by a building built up on pylons. You can watch her wander around her enclosure.
This was by far Mom’s favorite part. At this zoo, you can walk up a ramp to another building built up on pylons and feed the giraffes! She fed them some leaves!
This is Hodari, the male giraffe. He was a lot more impatient with the wait for the leaves. He paced around, and came to the building and looked around for the entire time that Mom waited. He was also first in line for the leaves when the zoo lady finally showed up.
And this is Zuri, the female giraffe. She waited in the back until the zoo lady showed up. She was equally happy to eat the leaves though, but she was much more lady-like!
And last but not least, the zebu. Mom likes cows and their relatives, so we have a lot of pictures of him. He was willing to eat the petting zoo food Mom got, but only if Mom hung over the side of the fence!
I hope you like the pictures! Mom has been busy with work lately, and does not have the energy to take me outside or other post worthy adventures! On Wednesday, she’s going to the EAA—so maybe we will have plane pictures to post!
