March 30th, 2012

Mom, Milton, Foster, Caleb and I went to the mall a few days ago. While we waited in the car, Mom bought us something that she had seen in the Build-a-Bear flyer that we got in the mail.

I am the proud owner of a ‘pawpad!’ My mom loves electronics—and really wishes she could afford an ipad. But this is much more in our price range!
tn_2012-03-28 Marlowe and His New Electronics (1)It’s kind of hard to write on, but Mom says that it is the thought that counts!
She also bought me a Build-a-Bear ‘pawtrack,’ sort of a BAB MP3 player. She says I look moody when I’m listening to it!

It plays some Build-a-Bear music—probably like 20 seconds a piece. It’s pretty cute!

It is REALLY loud when you hit one of the buttons though, so I don’t think I’ll be using it too much—at least when Mom’s around! (Mom’s not a big fan of loud noises, unless it’s one of her favorite bands!)
Hope you all are having a great day!

March 23rd, 2012

Things have been pretty quiet around here. Mom had a bad day at work, so we decided that she ought to help me write in my blog. We always talk about happy things here! I think we should talk about favorite TV shows!

After Mom came home from her bad day at work, we watched a TV show called Dinosaur Train. Mom likes it because it reminds her of one of her friend’s nephew’s. I like it because it has two of my favorite things in it, dinosaurs and trains!

Dinosaur Train Theme Song

When my mom was a kid, one of her favorite shows was Sheri Lewis and Lamb Chop’s Play Along. One of the reasons Mom liked it so much was the addictive song at the end!

Lamb Chop’s Play-Along Theme Song

Mom says that she doesn’t really remember anything about the TV show itself, but another of her favorite shows as a kid was Sharon, Lois & Bram’s Elephant Show. One thing she still remembers is the end!

Ending to Sharon, Lois and Bram’s Elephant Show

Are there any children’s shows that you remember? Or any that are your favorite now?

Oh—Mom says that I ought to tell Buttons that if Build-a-Bear clothes fit you, when Mom gets to making me an outfit, if you want, she can make you one too—have any wants? She just uses fabric—she can’t knit or crochet!

Hope you are all having a good day!

March 20th, 2012

Last month, my Mom took Wren, Caleb, and Adelaide to a ‘BJD Meetup.’ I didn’t know what that meant until Mom explained to me that meetups were groups of people who gathered for a common interest. Mom and one of her friends from work both like dolls like Wren, and her friend invited her to this meetup. It was going to be a crafty meetup, so Mom had to bring supplies.

Mom said that Wren was the star of the trip, so she got dressed up.

Wren said it was a lot of fun—she got to meet other dolls like her. She was the smallest by far!

This is Wren and Mom’s friend’s doll, Cillian. He was pretty much the average size!

The reason this all matters to me is that it got Mom interested in doll clothes making again. Right now, she’s working on making clothes for my AG friends, but she says that she won’t be able to resist making clothes for me for very long! She says that I am pretty charming when I want to be!

Hope you all are having a good day!

March 18th, 2012

Here are a few more pictures from our Sunday photography shoot. Mom loves the way these pictures look, and I have to agree with her!

tn_2012-03-11 Marlowe (2)

On Flickr, she mentions that she thinks I ought to take a bath—I don’t really agree with that though!

tn_2012-03-11 Princess (11)

Princess helped with the photography shoot. Mom says she was quality control.

The American Girls came outside with us. Mom’s in the middle of making pajamas for them, so they’ve been getting trips downstairs with my plushie friends and I.

tn_2012-03-11 Molly (1)

Molly is the next subject of her seamstress skills. She says that my plushie friends and I have plenty of clothes, but the AG girls don’t. Sigh. I like new clothes though!

And because it makes Mom happy, a picture of the sky!

March 13th, 2012

Spring has come—at least for a little while—to Wisconsin! I thought I would share with you the pictures that she took a few days ago. It was 60 degrees Fahrenheit on Sunday, so after she got out of work she took some of us outside for a photography shoot!

tn_2012-03-11 Caleb (1)

Caleb has come to terms with the fact that he has to share traveling companion duties with Wren for a while. He told me that it was nice to have someone to talk to while Mom was working!

tn_2012-03-11 Foster (5)

Foster is happy to get outside. He travels with me to work in Mom’s car sometimes, but we don’t get to go out of the car. It’s sort of tempting to get out, but we don’t want to get lost!

tn_2012-03-11 Milton (2)

Milton was glad to get out too—he likes looking at the birds! There are a lot of bird feeders in our front yard, so there are plenty of birds to see!

Mom has the next couple days off of work, so I’m hoping that she takes us for a car ride! I know she wants to get her car washed, so I think I’m a shoe-in for that ride! I hope you all are having a great day!

March 5th, 2012

So, what do you all think of all the interesting places Mom and Caleb have gone? I wish I could have gone with to the train museum, but it will be there in the future! The next place Mom is going to go that is interesting is Milwaukee again for a book signing, but that’s not until April!

Instead, I thought I would show you some pretty pictures of Wisconsin. We have been having a crazy winter this year. One week it’s snowing, and the next week it’s 45 degrees Fahrenheit (7 degrees Celsius).

tn_2012-01-19 Winter (1)

My mom loves taking pictures. It’s probably one of the reasons we set up the blog!

tn_2012-01-20 Winter (2)

She has a camera with her almost all the time. She also takes a lot of pictures of our bulldog, Princess.

tn_2012-02-15 Geocaching with Kristin (3)

Mom says that we have a few book reviews upcoming, so you can all expect that soon. It’s also getting closer and closer to spring—and that means Mom is much more willing to take my friends and I outside!

To Jerry and Ben—my Mom thinks that meeting would be the coolest thing! She says that someday she wants to go to the Netherlands to meet Sullivan and Hammie, but that won’t happen for a long, long time! If you want to send contact us via the profile page thing, we would both love to try to set things up!

Hope you all are having a good day!

March 1st, 2012

A few weeks ago, Mom and Caleb went to the National Railroad Museum in Green Bay. I love trains and I wish I could have gone! But these pictures almost make up for it!

Outside the museum itself, there is a huge shed that they keep more trains in. It was rather dark and everything was covered in layers of dust! Some of the trains are in need of restoration, but it is better then sitting outside all year long.

tn_2012-02-04 National Railroad Museum 083

There really wasn’t a lot of labels, so Mom is not sure which train is which. Oddly enough, there is more information on Wikipedia about which train is which then on the museum’s website!

tn_2012-02-04 National Railroad Museum 067

This is the full sized Aerotrain from the other post. It looks kind of like a car to me! Maybe like a rocket ship! There were several cars behind it.

tn_2012-02-04 National Railroad Museum 071

This was a train without a label. Mom thinks it is from the Lake Superior and Ishpeming Railroad. It is a steam train.

tn_2012-02-04 National Railroad Museum 073

This is a boxcar that Mom liked because it was from Wisconsin. Wikipedia says that it is a replica though.

tn_2012-02-04 National Railroad Museum 074

Wikipedia says that this is a tank car that used to hold vinegar. That would be a lot of vinegar!

tn_2012-02-04 National Railroad Museum 077

And because every train blog post should end with a caboose, here is a picture of an Illinois Central wide version caboose, pulled by a Manistique and Lake Superior Railroad Alco S-3 engine.

I hope some of you enjoyed my train pictures as much as I did! I love trains! They’re so big!
