Mom went to her sister's house yesterday and rescued Chloe from her shipping container! The main hug has been reunited! Mom also brought Carabella home, so Caleb has a friend his size now. (Now if we could just get Oliver to leave him alone, he'd be a very happy bear!)

We've decided to name the bunny Cotton! I'm sure that bunnies eat cotton plants given half a chance, and it's sort of literary too!

Talk to you all later!

January 1st, 2012

Hurrah! A new year! These things mean much more to humans then they do to teddy bears, but it makes Mom happy if we celebrate. (It’s a much more low key celebration—Mom’s not much of a partying type!)

August 29th, 2010

A few days ago, Mom took a few of my friends and me into the kitchen so she could cook supper. When we sit in the kitchen all together, we usually watch a movie. This time, we watched a TV show that Mom had bought at work. When she was a teenager, there was this show on the Food Network called Two Fat Ladies. It’s a British cooking show. The two ladies who were are on are very funny—and they cook food with lots of calories and butter. Mom says that since she shouldn’t eat the food, it’s much better to watch it being made on television!tn_2010-08-26 Watching TV (5)_edited-1

I think it is a pretty funny show. I don’t quite grasp all the British humor, but I guess I haven’t watched it enough. We are finished with the first disc now—the first six shows. One of the ladies unfortunately passed away after twenty-four shows.

But now Mom can watch it over and over again. It turns out that it is also on the Cooking Channel now—but we don’t get that channel. Mom says that Good Eats is still probably her favorite TV show, but Two Fat Ladies is a very close second!

This clip is about alcohol, but Mom thought she should connect to something that was legally uploaded! (Acorn Media are the people who make the DVDs.)

I hope you are all having a great day. Mom took some pictures today that we will post later in the week!

June 14th, 2010

My mom got a delivery from Build-a-Bear a few days ago. I want to introduce my new friends! They are both part of their Zoorific collection.

This is Celosia, the pink flamingo!tn_2010-06-13 Celosia (2)_edited-1

Upon her arrival, she won over all the girls here with her flowers! She says that it is called a lei. She explained that while she is not Hawaiian, she appreciated their culture and was glad to be dressed up for her trip here. She joins Opal as the only two birds in my hug!

This is Gambia, the giraffe!

tn_2010-06-13 Gambia_edited-1

It turned out that Gambia is Charlotte’s lost cousin! They were both so glad to see each other! Mom and I were very glad to reunite another family!

tn_2010-06-13 Charlotte and Gambia_edited-1

Don’t they look happy to see each other again! Charlotte is a World Wildlife Foundation giraffe that BAB made about five years ago. She is one of the founding members of our hug!

Mom also got me a present. As part of the collection, BAB made a carrying bag. It turned out that it also came with a bear-sized one! Technically, I fit in the one that is Mom’s size, and Caleb fits in the one that is my size! We think that would be a very funny picture!

I am going to go now and talk to my new friends! I hope you are having a great day!

March 3rd, 2010

We are awaiting three new arrivals here this week. While browsing some of our Flickr friends’ photostreams, Mom discovered that Build-a-Bear has a longhorn cattle, a Clydesdale, and a buffalo (technically a bison!). She invited them all home to live with us. The longhorn cattle’s name is Texas, the Clydesdale’s name is Jefferson, and the buffalo’s name is Yellowstone. I will be sure to post pictures of them when they arrive.

tn_2010-03-02 Pirouette and Sarina (3) Pirouette and Sarina, who have been getting along famously since Sarina’s arrival, have decided to come downstairs and wait for Jefferson’s arrival. They are anxious to greet him! They really would like Mom to invite a boy magical pony much like themselves home! All our boy four legged horses are ordinary horses! Strawberry is our other four legged magical pony girl. She decided that she would rather wait to meet the new boy until he got a bit better settled in. I think that’s a rational way—it’s very exciting to meet all these new plushies! Introducing him to our whole hug will take a while!

Fleur is also kind of excited. Until now, she has been the only cattle in our hug. While Yellowstone won’t be her exact species, buffalo are related to cattle. Texas will be a little bit closer. We’ll have to see who they want to hang out with. Fleur is fond of Shirley, Charlotte, and Chloe. Who knows if they will want to spend time with the girls!

They are supposed to arrive today via FedEx. I hope they come soon! I like meeting new friends!

February 12th, 2010

Tomorrow is the start of the Teddy Olympics and I just posted my photos on Twitter. Technically it’s tomorrow somewhere, so Mom said it was all right. But there were plenty more photos that we took, so I thought I would share them here.

Mom thought that we should get all dressed up if we were going to appear in such an important event. Milton dressed up with me. Casual is the usual fashion trend around here, so when I got dressed up, Milton did too for moral support.

tn_2010-02-12 01 Milton and Marlowe (2)Mom decided that the hugging event was a good one to start out with. Charlotte volunteered to be the hugged.

tn_2010-02-12 02 Hugging Event (2) Getting the photo taken became more of a struggle then she had thought. By the end of the entire thing, she was ready to hurt someone. (In a plushie sort of way, of course. She’s so much taller and bigger then the rest of us that stepping on someone’s toes hurts enough!)

tn_2010-02-12 02 Hugging Event (4)When Mom was finally happy with that, Caleb let me give him a hug and Mom took our photo.  It didn’t take that many photos to get one that Mom liked.

tn_2010-02-12 03 Hugging EventWe then started on our only physical event. I don’t have any ice skates—and there certainly isn’t any ice inside the house. We decided that roller skating was close enough. I didn’t get to go outside and skate because it was too cold. Mom also has no clue where my helmet and pads are. Safety is important!

tn_2010-02-12 04 Roller SkatingAfter a bit of balancing, I finally got to my feet. Mom had to help me stay upright! It’s been a long time since I got my roller skates on, and I didn’t find it as easy as I did the last time. I was very wobbly!

tn_2010-02-12 05 Roller SkatingShe encouraged me to take a step forward.

tn_2010-02-12 08 Roller Skating And I was finally standing on my own! Wahoo! But then I took one more step forward--

tn_2010-02-12 09 Roller SkatingAnd fell straight down! It hurt! That was the end of my Teddy Olympic career! I think I’ll stick to blogging and twittering instead! Ouch!!

Today, a new friend arrived, all the way from the UK! I’ll leave the rest of the arrival until tomorrow!

February 10th, 2010

I had a good day yesterday. Mom spent the entire day with me. I spent a little time in the morning tweeting back and forth with Tat. And we lucked out and checked the chat room on the Bear Place and found plushies chatting! I spent a good half hour chatting with Jeff Ogre, Archimedes, FedBear, and Barney Bear! It was grand fun!

tn_2010-02-07 The Group (3)

My friends sat on the top of the couch and watched Mom play with the computer. (I posed with them for this picture!) I introduced Milton and Robinson to Twitter. (Mom says that they’re going to have to just read my feed. No more accounts for a while!) Robinson says that I need to find some plushie horses to follow. Charlotte was impressed with the two giraffe plushies that I found!

It snowed a lot yesterday. It has covered any ground that was exposed after our little warm up a few weeks ago. It peeves the bulldog, who likes the snow but expects it to disappear when she wants it to. I think she wants to spend time outside lying on the porch, but it is covered with snow!

I thought of finding some dragons to share with Dilly, but I don’t think there are any my size around here. Mom has several Webkinz dragons, like Wilhelmina, Ptolemy, and Capricorn, but they are not part of my immediate hug. I don’t know too much about them personally, but I would imagine that Wilhelmina, being a pink girl dragon, likes pink and princesses as much as Dilly does!

My sister Chloe wants to know that if she likes princesses, pink, and other girly things, if that makes her a not-a-stinky bear. She says that only boy bears are stinky! I think I’m a good boy bear—I’m not stinky! Mom says that she doesn’t really mean it, but I’m not so sure!

November 22nd, 2009

tn_2009-11-21 Marlowe in Santa OutfitIt’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas around here! Mom found some Build-a-Bear clothes at Goodwill today. Some of them were Santa Claus clothes! I can look like Santa for a while now! I feel very festive in my new jacket! There was a hat too. I even have black boots somewhere—and although I don’t have red pants—I could dress up like Santa! Hm! The possibilities! Maybe I should say ho, ho, ho!

My mom feels better. The ideas that you gave me helped. She likes chicken soup—she said that it was nice that I thought of her! I told her that it was part of my job as her bear and she smiled!

In the bag of clothes that Mom found at Goodwill, there was a very large (at least in bear terms) red sweater. It turned out to be Build-a-Bear. Mom gave it to Charlotte, who is one of the biggest girls that we have here. It has a white heart on it so it’s not suited too well for a boy bear. tn_2009-11-21 Marlowe and Charlotte

What do you like the most about Christmas? I think I like the Christmas lights the most. I hope I get to go here this winter. Mom saw the advertisement while she was at our local mall.  There is supposed to even be a horse drawn wagon ride. I think it sounds great!

Robinson says that he likes Christmas music, while Milton says that he likes all the Christmas trees and their ornaments. Chloe says that she likes the glittery dresses and the shiny tinsel that people put on trees. Our house isn’t set up for Christmas quite yet though. Mom says that it will probably start after Thanksgiving. Our grandma believes in one holiday at a time! Mom says that if it was Christmas all year long it wouldn’t mean the same, but I’m not quite so sure about that. I don’t think you can ever have enough sparkly lights! I think a big part of it is that Mom doesn’t appreciate Christmas quite as much as your average bear due to her years of retail experience! Maybe this year will be different! We can only hope.

November 10th, 2009

tn_2009-04-08 Complete WWF Plushies_edited-1Mom goes to school on most days of the week. Apparently, school for older people like her don’t last the entire day from start to finish. She’s got breaks in between classes. Today I’ve talked her into continuing on the folder on Picasa with photos of my friends who live her with me. She started last night, but things will go much faster with the school’s zooming internet connection. It’s mostly my Build-a-Bear friends, but it is a start!

She got about twenty of them uploaded. Her two final classes of the day were cancelled, so she came home instead. You have to have a Picasa account to view these pictures—we don’t want just anyone to see our photos. We’re not quite sure what link to share, but we’re hoping this one works. tn_2009-04-13 Kennel Pals Family_edited-1

Mom figured out how to make more pictures upload at once, so it will probably be finished sometime tonight. She says that the captions will have to wait until tomorrow. I’ll find more pictures of my friends to upload later, but these are the first batch. One day a few months ago, Mom brought almost everyone downstairs and took their picture. It was only almost everyone, so there are a few plushies whose pictures I will have to find in a different folder somewhere.

We have been mostly just lounging around. It has been unseasonably warm around here lately. It reached into the high fifties today. We sat out on the porch for a little bit. Mom then wanted to take a nap so we came back inside. I’m hoping that tomorrow after she gets done with school we can sit outside again. I know that it will soon be too cold to spend much time outside—at least without lots of layers of clothes. I guess with the cold will come snow! I do like to play in the snow!

The top photo is a part our World Wildlife Foundation family. Edwin, Eira, Daisy, Garnet, Zelda, and Charlotte are in this photo. It’s missing Lennox the lion and Timber the Wolf (he wasn’t here yet!) though. The second picture is our Kennel Pal family. Lincoln, Clover, Bernard, Harding, and Dutchess are in that photo. Reagan the beagle arrived in our family after we took the photo. Mom really likes sharing pictures of all of us! We’ve got such a big, great family that she likes to share! Does your mom or dad like to share pictures?
