August 20th, 2010

This post is going to be image heavy because we received a package from Build-a-Bear yesterday! Robinson and I received new outfits!

tn_2010-08-19 Robinson (4)_edited-1

This is my friend, Robinson. He’s really not an urban skater, but the outfit was on clearance on their website. This outfit has the added benefit of having drawstring pants—because he’s a very slender horse. Most of BAB’s pants fall off him—or they would if they weren’t held up by his tail! (It’s not a problem I have—I’m much more stout!)tn_2010-08-19 Marlowe and Fedora_edited-1

My new fedora! Isn’t it snazzy! It really doesn’t fit me very well, but I don’t care!

tn_2010-08-19 Marlowe and Giraffe Shirt (2)_edited-1

Mom didn’t see this shirt in the stores when the Zoorific collection was out. We both love giraffes, so she wanted this shirt!

tn_2010-08-19 Marlowe and New Backpack_edited-1 My new backpack!

tn_2010-08-19 Marlowe and Bedding (2)_edited-1

And my new bedding. I’ve coveted Emmi Jade’s bedding—and once I saw that BAB was going to have bear sized bedding, I wanted that just as much! It’s sports themed, which really isn’t my thing, but it’s better then the pink girl stuff! Now I have to talk Mom into buying me the bed!

And finally, a group photo of everyone who came downstairs to see what was in the package! I love all the presents!

tn_2010-05-23 Fleur, Robinson, Carabella, and Caleb_edited-1

A small Caleb and Carabella update! They must have had some time to talk, because now they will sit near each other. Caleb still has not told me what is happening, but I am glad that they are getting over it. I was worried there for a little bit! I don’t like it when plushies in my hug are mad at each other! Maybe Robinson or Fleur has given them some advice! They all have been spending a lot of time together while Mom is at work!

It has been incredibly hot here in Wisconsin for the past few days at approximately 90 degrees Fahrenheit or 32 degrees Celsius.  As an indoor bear, it hasn’t really bothered me too much. But as a bear to a human who goes outside, it ends up affecting me. There is air conditioning here at home, but obviously not outside! The air conditioning at the place that Mom works is malfunctioning at best, so it makes her a rather cranky Mom. Yesterday morning before she went to work, we spent the entire time curled up under the blankets with the fan on full blast. I am glad that I am a bear who does not need to go outside! I’ll go out any time she wants me to, but I don’t have to!tn_2010-05-19 Mums (2)

As long as we water them, the plants and flowers have been really happy with the heat. Mom and I took this picture of a chrysanthemum. The flowers have been blossoming, and the plants have been growing. This past weekend, Mom’s parents planted the garden when she was at work. I did not get to help, but she promised to take me out there so I could see the work they did in the next couple of days. Now I will have to be patient and wait for everything to germinate!

tn_2010-04-19 Marlowe, Caleb, and Postcard from Sullivan I have several things to report! Firstly, I received another postcard! This time it is from my friend, Sullivan McPig! He lives in the Netherlands! I love getting mail. Mom says that she is on the look out for more interesting postcards. We will then fill them out and send them on their way all over the world. I think it is really amazing that a little piece of paper can start a journey here in the Midwest and travel all over the world—and get to the right person that I intended it for! It’s really amazing! And to imagine that they did the same thing before computers and the such!

tn_2010-04-19 Caleb and TulipMom, Caleb, Robinson, Stegner, and I spent a nice afternoon out on the porch. It is probably about 50 degrees Fahrenheit (10 degrees C) outside right now. It’s certainly not short-sleeve t-shirt weather for Mom, but it is plenty nice enough! We mostly admired the blossoming trees and the vibrant green grass. Then Mom noticed that one of the tulips she had planted earlier in the month had blossomed! (She bought them already started, so all the tulip had to do was blossom!) There are more of them ready to blossom, so I will keep you all updated!

tn_2010-04-15 Tulips (6) We also have some tulips that are planted in the side garden of our house. They are orange tulips. They do not flower as often as they could. Mom says that they need more room to grow. I don’t think it matters! Whatever flowers we get are good!

tn_2010-04-15 Marlowe and Edmund (2)And lastly, I have received a late Easter present. Mom said that she felt bad that everyone got candy and the like, so she found this little critter for me. His name is Edmund. He is a very, very soft bunny. He has not met Pine, my puppy, yet. Mom says that it will probably go all right, since Pine is quite a bit smaller then Edmund! I admired Jeff Ogre’s bunny, Mr. Cool, from the BearPlace, so I am glad Mom found me this bunny!

January 22nd, 2010

Mom did go to Build-a-Bear and bought my friends and I some presents.  BAB has a frequent shopper program. For every $100 you spend, you get $10 in a certificate to use there. tn_2010-01-22 Marlowe in Black Plaid Shirt (2)So every four or five months, Mom gets a certificate in her email! She decided to print off the certificate today in celebration of her little vacation and go shopping! She bought two boy outfits and two girl shirts.

Mom likes this shirt because it had snaps. You can’t see them, but they are shiny buttons with snap backs. She says that I look like a have an attitude problem in this picture. I say it’s the silly tie that came as part of the shirt. She thinks the outfit has something to do with the Jonas Brothers—but neither of us are sure. She bought me another shirt—this one has an eagle on it. It’s supposed to be patriotic. It says strength and freedom on it. Mom liked the eagle. I think it’s cool—very trendy. I think it looks like the shirts that Mom and Caleb see at stores when they go shopping. tn_2010-01-22 Marlowe in Eagle T-Shirt

I do love Chloe—even when she’s being extra annoying in her little-sister-ness. We kept each other company for many long days in the beginning of our hug. I am happy that I have such a loving family with Foster and Chloe! Mom and I read Buttons BeCause’s blog entry about sending bears to Haiti to comfort the children who have been hurt by the aftereffects of the earthquake. I thought about all those children who don’t have anyone to go to and it made me glad that I have people and plushies to be with.

2010-01-22 Tiny Plush I wasn’t going to show you these plushies—but they’re so cute and so tiny that I couldn’t resist. They’re from Only Hearts Pets. They are Eggs the ostrich, Stretch the giraffe, and Tad the teddy bear. Mom found them when she was shopping today. To show how tiny they are, Caleb, Baxter, and Stegner allowed Mom to take their picture together.  Caleb is only six inches tall at the most, and he towers over the three of them. Even Baxter seems to be a giant compared to their littleness! Caleb says that he will keep track of them so they don’t get lost! I think it’s a very important job—they could get lost so easily!

tn_2009-12-14 Reading My New Book (2)My mom bought my friends and I a present yesterday. It is a brand new book! It is called Teddy Helps! and it is by a lady named Alison Reynolds and illustrated by Lee Krutop. Robinson, Stegner, Caleb and I read it last night. It is about a little bear named Teddy who does not want to help his friends make a tree house. I won’t tell you the rest of it so you will read it for yourselves.

Mom lets us read all sorts of books. Do you have a favorite book? I’ve got lots of favorite books! I find it hard to chose just one. My favorites include the Phantom Tollbooth by Norman Juster, Zen Shorts by Jon Muth, and Toot and Puddle: Wish You Were Here by Holly Hobbie.  tn_2009-12-14 Reading My New Book

Mom has a lot of books from when she was a little girl that she lets us read. We’ve got a pretty extensive library around here—well, at least for bears it seems extensive. I want to go to the library someday. It is probably my dream trip. Granted, Mom would have to go to the library as well—and she hasn’t gone to a library that has children’s books in it for a long time. (Her school library does not.) Mom says that she does not go to the library because she can never remember to return the books she rented. In fact, she has some books that she must return from the school’s library. I think that is going to be Monday’s must do!tn_2009-12-14 Reading My New Book (3)

Mom is done with her chemistry class. Her final was tonight, so my job as the chemistry homework bear is done. I must have been a pretty good homework bear, because she is getting a good grade and finished all of her homework.  I am glad for her—while she seemed to understand the homework, it caused her much grief. Now it is done and she can spend more time with us! I know I am looking forward to more time with Mom now that she is almost done with school.  We will get to watch a little more TV. (We can’t operate the remote when she’s gone—too big fingers for too little buttons.) And she’ll buy us more books to read. It will be great fun!

tn_2009-12-07 Eating Cookies

Mom bought cookies yesterday, and today she shared them with us! Milton, Robinson, Caleb, Stegner, and I got to enjoy the cookies. They’re not as good as homemade Christmas cookies, but we’re pretty happy with them! We’ve decided that the thing that makes Christmas cookies better is the frosting and the sprinkles.  Almost anything cake or cookie related is made better with either sprinkles or frosting. We spent some time discussing what frosting we liked the most—and came up with chocolate. Milton likes ‘funfetti’ frosting a lot, while Robinson likes vanilla. But we all can agree on chocolate frosting.

Mom doesn’t think that I introduced Stegner. Stegner is Robinson’s bear. He came from the Mayville Company. He’s supposed to be a dollhouse bear. We’ve collectively decided that it must be a big dollhouse! Stegner is kind of shy, but so is Robinson. He spends a lot of his time quietly watching what happens around us. Caleb enjoys having a bear his size around all the time. They’re beginning to be friends much like Robinson and I are.
