November 23rd, 2018

Hello everyone! How are you? I’m okay. Mom got moved back to a quieter place at her not-retail job, so she’s been a lot calmer. She’s just not suited for loud places!
This Monday, Mom, Oliver, and Caleb went to the mall to meet Santa. The people who take the pictures realize that dogs really don’t want to be in the mall, so it is a really quick process. Oliver especially didn’t like the other dogs—one of them kind of dived at him and it made him very nervous. But they’ve been going since he was a little puppy, so Mom wanted to go again. So here is Mom and Oliver with Santa!

Mom really doesn’t want to be a part of the picture, but there is no way Oliver will stay seated on the bench with Santa unless she sits with them! (He was READY TO GO even in the picture!)
Afterward, Mom went to Burger King for supper, and he got to bark at people in the parking lot as a reward. He seemed to recover pretty quickly, so he must’ve forgiven her!
Do any of you visit Santa? Mom says that maybe when Graham is a little older, Mom can ask him to bring me up to Santa and we all can have our picture taken!
Talk to you next week!

Hello everyone! How are you? Mom has been on vacation this week. It has been pretty quiet—which isn’t a bad thing. She had some people over on Sunday for her birthday party. On her birthday proper, we went out for lunch with her sister. It was rather quiet.

Yesterday, she went mushroom hunting! Mom just takes pictures. Our identification books are at her sister’s, so we don’t know which kind of mushrooms these are.

I think mushrooms are cool. They grow in all sorts of places! I like how many different forms there are. Some of them can be very dangerous!
Talk to you next week!

July 20th, 2012

A long time ago, my mom found a fellow plushie blog called Buttons’ Because. In an attempt to exchange mail, my mom found out that Buttons and his mom lived in Illinois, which is very near (at least in the plushie world) where we live in Wisconsin.

Fast forward a year or two, and Buttons’ mom announced that they were coming up north for a graduation party! It was located only about a half an hour away from where I live! We quickly agreed to meet!

And here we are! My mom and Buttons’ mom met at a McDonalds, had a little breakfast, and then went to a local park to take pictures! Don’t we both look really snazzy! It was a beautiful day!

Caleb and Scruffy decided that they also wanted their picture taken. I like their matching Chicago White Soxs hats! Maybe I ought to get Mom to make Caleb and I some matching hats!

We went for a little walk. Buttons’ Mom found some really cool boulders to let us climb on. For a bear who spends most of his time either on the bed, on the couch, or in his mom’s arms, the climbing was really cool! I told Mom that she’s got to take me out climbing again real soon!

I liked being outside! Mom lets me go outside on the porch all the time, but it was nice to see new things!

Mom and I think we ought to break up the visit into more posts so it doesn’t get too long—but you all get to see all the pictures!

I had SO MUCH FUN hanging out with Buttons and his mom and dad! Button’s mom wants to release the pictures together, so there will be blog posts soon! I thought I would share the getting ready pictures today!

Last night, Mom let us pick out the clothes that we were going to wear. I was a little nervous because I had never met a new bear like this before, but Mom reminded me that it was Buttons and we’ve known him almost forever!

tn_2012-06-16 Button's Visit Getting Ready 002

This is all of us all spiffy-ed up! Mom picked out my outfit, but I picked out my shoes! (I have to wear shoes so I stand up better!) It turned out that I probably didn’t make the best decision about the shoes, but there was no way for me to know about that!

Into the travel bag we go! I had to sit on the bottom because of my shoes, and I didn’t like that too much!

And here we are in the front seat of Mom’s car. I was so excited! More pictures later!

More pictures from the Building for Kids. Like I said yesterday, it is more of a play area then a museum. There are plenty of things that kids can do with their imagination though. Mom says that with all the video games and such, kids need a place to use their imaginations!

Mom doesn’t like posting pictures here that have other people in it. There were A LOT of people there. It seemed like hundreds!

This little girl was enjoying spinning the globe. (They’re all facing the other way, therefore exempt from Mom’s rule.)

We thought we would post this picture for Dilly. It looks like one of her cousins was immortalized in papier-mâché!

I have a new plushie friend and mail blog post thought up for next, but then I am going to show you one more place that Mom visited! I hope you all don’t mind my blog trip around where I live.

March 27th, 2011

We read all your blogs about the areas that you live in. My mom and I live in Wisconsin. We actually live in a little town near the city of Appleton.  We thought we would share pictures  of our nearest city like you all share pictures. Yesterday, Mom and Caleb went to downtown Appleton to see a children’s museum called the Building for Kids.

This is the corner that the museum was on. Mom was with some other people, so she didn’t want to cross the road to take a picture of the building itself.

tn_2011-03-26 Downtown Appleton (5)_edited-1

Downtown Appleton is sort of recovering. There are some businesses, but there are also a lot of empty buildings. That large building is mostly empty.

The Building for Kids is supposed to be an educational children’s museum. It is mostly a gigantic play area, scattered with a few learning things. Mom thinks that if your visit was more structured, a kid might learn more! The two little girls we were with enjoyed themselves a lot, so that is the most important part!

Mom had seen commercials on television for their Japanese exhibit. It turned out mostly to be a room with a few manga-inspired things. It was still kind of cool—Mom was impressed that she recognized these characters! They’re from a movie called My Neighbor Totoro!

tn_2011-03-26 Building for Kids (10)_edited-1

This is the cat bus! We’re not so sure what it is from, but it’s very funny looking. (Reading the Wikipedia article on My Neighbor Totoro explained that it comes from that movie too!)

tn_2011-03-26 Building for Kids (23)_edited-1

My mom really enjoys zoos and animals. She was glad to see that they had some birds. They were all little finches and canaries.

tn_2011-03-26 Building for Kids (46)_edited-1

They also had a few pet rats. They were female dumbo rats. This one was named Oreo. Some little child had put finger-paint all over the glass of the cage they were in, so there wasn’t too many places to get pictures.

tn_2011-03-26 Building for Kids_edited-1

Then they had a rainbow bearded lizard. He or she was pretty interested in sunning herself on the rock. I think that would be a pretty sweet life if I were a lizard!

Next time, I’ll show you some pictures of what else was inside the Building for Kids.
