tn_2012-12-20 Christmas Tree (11)

So, I guess I ought to start out by saying Mom and I are really sorry that it’s been so long. Mom helps me write in my blog when she’s feeling creative, and that hasn’t happened in a very long time.

We try to keep my blog happy. There really hasn’t been a lot of happy around here. Mom’s been feeling rather flat lately. She says that it mostly has to do with work, with a smattering of feeling rather useless. Working retail during the Christmas season is never fun, and it surely did not disappoint this year.

She tends to want to be by herself during these times, and it certainly is not helping. We spend a lot of time sitting and playing on the computer—which mostly consists of reading things online and tending to her family tree.

She tries to remember that we have some really great friends online, and ought to spend more time talking to them. The nice people at the Bear Club auto-mailed me a happy birthday email and it almost made her tear up! The Christmas cards that I’ve been receiving have done the same thing!

We’re going to try for one post a month right now. Mom is going to help Wren with her blog a little later in the month as well. Here’s hoping that this works out!

  3. Hi Marlow,
I don't know if we've met but my name is Sandy and I'm friends with Buttons and Jerry & Ben and a few other stuffie bloggers... Not that the bloggers are stuffy as in snobbish - but stuffie as in plushies! (Good to clear that up!) Glad to see you got your Mom back on the blog... and I look forward to your posts!
    Happy New Year!

  5. Hi Marlowe
My Mammy says you should tell your Mom that all your bloggy friends understand that she can't be cheery all the time. We bears can hibernate but bossy bosses at work make big people stay awake and go to their job every day, even if they are a little sad and would rather be under a snuggly blanket.
Give your Mom a big hug from me. A bear hug is a very restorative thing.
We look forward to your blogs, but don't want your Mom to feel under any pressure. We know you have a big pile of books so you won't be bored whilst waiting for her to feel better.
    Hugs,
    Trumble Gardener-Bear
PS Hot chocolate and tasty cookies are very cheering for people who feel low.

  6. Bob T. Bear says "There's no mood so low that can't be raised by putting a pair of underpants on your head". You could always try that... Bob doesn't mention it but I would think clean underpants would work best!

  9. Hiya Marlowe,
How's your Mom? I keep sending out 'I love Marlowe's Mom' thoughts to help her feel better. Give her a big bear hug from me.
My Mammy has had a five week long headache so we've had to be very mousie quiet. I am making her put her boots on and go to look at the daffodils that are coming into bud in our garden. Flowers is good for headaches.
    Love,
    Trumble
