Hello everybody! The weather has been great here in Wisconsin. Oliver and Graham both like sitting on the porch, so Mom and I have spent a lot of time lately outside.

(Technically, this isn’t the view from our porch—it’s actually the McDonald’s parking lot, but Mom likes the sky and the dog, so here it is!)

There also has been some very pretty flowers. Mom likes her miniature gardening, but there isn’t a lot of pretty flowers in miniature! Grandma likes going to garden centers, so I have a lot of pictures of big flowers!

This is an iris. It’s a bearded iris. It was at a garden center, and it didn’t have a scientific name on it. Mom loves the color purple, so she took a picture of it. She looks out for flowers that are my favorite color, blue, but there aren’t a lot!

Mom took this picture at the Master Gardener Sale at the UW-Extension. It’s not as fancy as it sounds—it was just a plant sale. Someday when Mom has the money, she wants to go through the Master Gardener program!

These are anemones. They’re wildflowers! Well, technically these aren’t wildflowers—they’re cultivated cousins of the wildflower. I like how white they are.

Do you have a favorite flower? Mom and I both like tulips! Mom likes purple tulips the best. What do you think?

Hello everybody! Things have been pretty quiet around here this week. Mom spent her two days off taking care of Graham. He’s getting really big!

Oliver is an excellent guard dog. He likes sitting on the ground with Mom and the baby.
Otherwise, Mom and I gardened for a while yesterday. The weather has finally decided to be nice around here.

Mom and I like miniature gardening, but she did do some big gardening last weekend. We now have a vegetable garden. It’s not very pretty yet—mostly just dirt—although you can see some corn from the house! Do any of you garden? Mom will take some pictures of the vegetable garden soon!
I hope you’re all having a great day! Mom and I are kind of tired, so we are going to go to bed!

Happy Friday the 13th, everybody!

I’m not really superstitious. Mom has a thing about the full moon. She says that it brings out the craziest people at work. I just like posting things about holidays!
On Mom’s Google calendar, we keep track of all sorts of literary birthdays. Daphne du Maurier, who wrote the book Rebecca, was born on May 13th, 1907. They’re interesting things to look up. We’re lead on a path through Wikipedia where we find out more things about these people! Since Mom has been working retail for so long, neither of us are really into the big holidays, so these are nice holidays to celebrate!
Do any of you celebrate any interesting different holidays? Next time, Mom and I will talk about some of the different books we have been reading. Mom reads a lot of books! Hope you’re all having a great day!

How is everyone!? It has decided to be spring this week in Wisconsin. Mom and Grandma have bought all sorts of plants! Mom also bought some plants—including a little tree—for our miniature garden. We’ll take pictures of that soon!
We spent most of the evening watching Parts Unknown with Anthony Bourdain on Netflix. Mom and I have binge watched all of the Layover and now we’re on the third season of Parts Unknown. Mom likes food shows and travel shows so it fits both! I mostly just like watching shows with Mom!
Mom has been back into collecting buttons. She finds them at thrift stores and antique malls. There are all sorts of different buttons out there!

Mom is especially fond of purple buttons. I really like the blue ones! There are a lot more blue buttons than purple ones though.
We finished a book today. It is called Jungle of Stone. It is about gentlemen in the 1840s who rediscovered the Mayan civilization. Both Mom and I liked it a lot. It was very much an adventure story with a lot of cool finds!

We read several books at a time. We replaced that one with a book called the Network, about the birth of the communication age.

Are any of you reading a good book now? Mom mostly likes nonfiction, but we’re willing to try anything!
