Hello everybody! How are you? I am okay. Mom and Oliver went to Shiocton this week to see the sturgeon (Acipenser fulvescens). They happened to be there when the WDNR were catching a very big female fish for her eggs. Mom had never seen a sturgeon up that close before-- well, out of the water at all.

After they took her out of the water, they laid her down on a mat near the edge. They seemed to keep her out of the water for a long time. I guess she was a very big fish so she could stay out of the water for longer then you'd think. They measured her and she ended up being 177 inches or almost 500 centimeters long. I wonder how old she was? The only way you can age a fish is to look at their ear bones, and they need to be dead for that, so who knows! She had to be pretty old to be that big though!

I hope you all have a great day! Talk to you later!
