My mom buys me presents sometimes. Sometimes, they’re clothes, which isn’t very fun. Sometimes they’re toys, which is a lot more fun. I have my own train, and a toy digger. A few days ago, she got me a brand new toy!

I have my very own Lightning McQueen! My favorite movie is Cars! There’s a new movie coming out too—Mom and I aren’t too sure about it, but we figure we ought to give it a try! She was looking for a Sally too, but all the ones the store had were Lightning McQueen.

Isn’t he great?! He’s just my size. You see his eyes? They move back and forth when you look at him from different directions.

I think he’s my favorite toy right now. (Caleb, my bear, really isn’t a toy, obviously—he’s my friend!) Does anyone else have a favorite toy?

Mom recently bought a new movie and we went downstairs to watch it. She saw it in the movie theaters, but wanted to share it with us! This time, I chose Cleveland and Taft to come downstairs with me.

This is the movie that Mom bought. She saw it in the theater in 3D. We don’t have anything that would make the movie 3D, but we do have a fancy flat screen TV in the kitchen!

Cleveland and Taft were fascinated by the movie. We’ve all watched plenty of TV, but this movie was very visually stunning. We decided that our favorite character was Cheshire Cat. (Mom’s favorite was the Mad Hatter!)

We had a lot of fun watching the movie. Did any of you see it? I still like Cars the best, but this is a very good movie!

March 6th 2010

All of my new friends have arrived! I will write about them another day, because yesterday, I helped Mom make supper! Her parents are gone on vacation, so we are in charge of all food preparation! We made a night of it. Milton, Robinson, Foster, and I went into the kitchen to watch some TV while Mom watched the dinner. Since I chose last time, we let Mom pick this time. She picked Dave Matthews Band’s Live at Folsom Field. We’ve seen it many times, but it makes her happy!

We have chose our places on the table. We would usually sit on the ground, but the TV in the kitchen is high up in a cabinet and Mom wants us to get the best view!

We are multi-tasking here. Mom is making two of her favorite meals from when she was a little girl. One she called hot-dish, which is made of noodles, hamburger, and tomatoes. The other she called Spanish rice, which is made of rice, hamburger, and tomatoes. The Spanish rice needs to cook in the oven.

Mom said it was very hot and I could only watch from a safe distance. She said that we didn’t have any oven mitts that would fit my hands to protect them from the heat. I still got to watch the water boil and make sure she noticed!

This is the hot-dish! I got to try some of this and it was very good. It made Mom very happy—she will have leftovers of both dishes throughout the week! Cooking was great fun! I hope Mom will let me help her again soon!

Mom has been playing with the program that I use to post blog entries. The program is called Windows Live Writer. It comes with the ability to have plug-ins.  The addition of the most recent set of plug-ins started as an attempt to find something that would add on my signature picture automatically. The only thing that she can find is a post on someone else’s blog explaining how to edit the template for the blog so it adds it—but it frankly took her quite a bit of time to get the template edited to get my blog to have a different look to it! She’s pretty good at computers, but we both have a lot to learn about editing and creating html and the like for websites! We’ve got plenty of time, but we’re working on it now! We probably should be working on our hunt for a bear-doctor!  

Mom has today off work. We’re going to work on finding the bear-doctor, taking naps, and otherwise wasting the day away. Mom says that’s what days off are for. I’m for the taking naps part! Mom’s currently on the hunting for a bear-doctor part. We found a website that lists some teddy bear artists from Wisconsin, but every one of the links is dead—and there is only one phone number that is listed that leads back to a person searchable on the internet. Sigh. Well, at least we made some progress today.  Who thought it would be this difficult to find a teddy bear artist to contact? Mom doesn’t want to trust my paw-repair to just anyone either! She was hoping to have some people to chose from. Sigh.

We decided that we wanted to watch a movie. The last time we watched a movie together, Mom chose. She said that I could chose today, so I picked Cars—the Disney film. Foster, Caleb and I sat in the kitchen when Mom had lunch and watched the movie. I love that movie. They have made a sequel that is coming out to theaters in 2011.

Do you have a favorite movie? Mom’s favorite movie is Lilo and Stitch. We like children’s movies around here. We don’t watch movies a lot though. We have our favorite movies that we watch, but that’s about it. We spend a lot of time on the internet, reading, or watching the Food Network. We certainly watch a lot of Food Network! I would like to watch more bear friendly shows, but I don’t really mind either way, It makes Mom happy. She says that it is nostalgic for her. When she was a little girl, they only had basic television. She watched a lot of PBS (it’s Wisconsin Public Television here)  and the cooking and home improvement shows on the weekends.  As an adult, she watches the Food Network instead! I guess it’s part of my job to keep Mom happy, so I watch the Food Network too. It’s an important job!
