Mom went to her sister's house yesterday and rescued Chloe from her shipping container! The main hug has been reunited! Mom also brought Carabella home, so Caleb has a friend his size now. (Now if we could just get Oliver to leave him alone, he'd be a very happy bear!)

We've decided to name the bunny Cotton! I'm sure that bunnies eat cotton plants given half a chance, and it's sort of literary too!

Yet another quick update! Mom found Robinson, Foster, Fleur and Charlotte! Chloe is on her way home right now!

Hurrah! A new year! These things mean much more to humans then they do to teddy bears, but it makes Mom happy if we celebrate. (It’s a much more low key celebration—Mom’s not much of a partying type!)

We are awaiting three new arrivals here this week. While browsing some of our Flickr friends’ photostreams, Mom discovered that Build-a-Bear has a longhorn cattle, a Clydesdale, and a buffalo (technically a bison!). She invited them all home to live with us. The longhorn cattle’s name is Texas, the Clydesdale’s name is Jefferson, and the buffalo’s name is Yellowstone. I will be sure to post pictures of them when they arrive.

Pirouette and Sarina, who have been getting along famously since Sarina’s arrival, have decided to come downstairs and wait for Jefferson’s arrival. They are anxious to greet him! They really would like Mom to invite a boy magical pony much like themselves home! All our boy four legged horses are ordinary horses! Strawberry is our other four legged magical pony girl. She decided that she would rather wait to meet the new boy until he got a bit better settled in. I think that’s a rational way—it’s very exciting to meet all these new plushies! Introducing him to our whole hug will take a while!

Fleur is also kind of excited. Until now, she has been the only cattle in our hug. While Yellowstone won’t be her exact species, buffalo are related to cattle. Texas will be a little bit closer. We’ll have to see who they want to hang out with. Fleur is fond of Shirley, Charlotte, and Chloe. Who knows if they will want to spend time with the girls!

They are supposed to arrive today via FedEx. I hope they come soon! I like meeting new friends!

I had a good day yesterday. Mom spent the entire day with me. I spent a little time in the morning tweeting back and forth with Tat. And we lucked out and checked the chat room on the Bear Place and found plushies chatting! I spent a good half hour chatting with Jeff Ogre, Archimedes, FedBear, and Barney Bear! It was grand fun!

My friends sat on the top of the couch and watched Mom play with the computer. (I posed with them for this picture!) I introduced Milton and Robinson to Twitter. (Mom says that they’re going to have to just read my feed. No more accounts for a while!) Robinson says that I need to find some plushie horses to follow. Charlotte was impressed with the two giraffe plushies that I found!

It snowed a lot yesterday. It has covered any ground that was exposed after our little warm up a few weeks ago. It peeves the bulldog, who likes the snow but expects it to disappear when she wants it to. I think she wants to spend time outside lying on the porch, but it is covered with snow!

I thought of finding some dragons to share with Dilly, but I don’t think there are any my size around here. Mom has several Webkinz dragons, like Wilhelmina, Ptolemy, and Capricorn, but they are not part of my immediate hug. I don’t know too much about them personally, but I would imagine that Wilhelmina, being a pink girl dragon, likes pink and princesses as much as Dilly does!

My sister Chloe wants to know that if she likes princesses, pink, and other girly things, if that makes her a not-a-stinky bear. She says that only boy bears are stinky! I think I’m a good boy bear—I’m not stinky! Mom says that she doesn’t really mean it, but I’m not so sure!

Mom brought a book downstairs tonight. It is called Chester’s Way, and it is by a gentleman named Kevin Henkes. Kevin Henkes is my mom’s favorite children’s picture book writer. He writes books like Lilly’s Purple Plastic Purse and Owen. I helped Chloe read the book for a while tonight. It is one of my favorite Kevin Henkes books. Chloe prefers the ones with Lilly as the main character—I think she wishes she could be that spunky! Mom wouldn’t allow that though! Chloe can read a lot of words—which is very good considering she is only three years old. I helped her with some of the bigger ones. She liked me reading passages out loud.

Mom made a group on the Bear Place a few days ago about books. She took our pictures so she could post a little story of sorts on there. I think she should bring more books downstairs so we can read more books to show on there!

Our hug seems to increase in bursts because Mom rescues Build-a-Bear plushies from Goodwill. When she finds one, if they’re not a species of BAB that she already has, they come home to our hug more often then not. Sometimes, they come home no matter what!She says that she can’t afford to bring home too many from the BAB store, but Goodwill’s prices are much more in her range. Some of the new, smaller plushies come from the place that she works. She gets a discount there. It doesn’t happen often because the plushies that are there don’t ask to be brought home. I am glad that as a bear, I don’t have to worry about money!

We had some new arrivals yesterday. Mom found them all at Goodwill. The pony is Crocus, Saffron and Hyacinth's cousin. The bear is Walnut—a very dapper looking fellow. Finally the tiger is Cornflower, named for her soft blue eyes that you can’t see very well. They are fitting in very well here. Crocus is a little bit shy, but is glad to find some of her relatives here. Mom is going to introduce Cornflower to some of our other cats—like Daisy the Bengal tiger and Eira the snow leopard. She hopes that will ease the move into such a big hug! Walnut, on the other hand, seems to fit right in and is very sociable. He has already made friends with Roscoe and they are discussing soccer—Roscoe’s favorite sport. (Roscoe fancies himself quite the soccer player, but I think he intimidates any of the other plushies who will play with him. He’s an awfully big fellow!)

Mom took a photo of the introduction today. They seem to be getting along well. We worry sometimes that new hug members won’t feel welcome, but there is almost always someone who will take the new member under their supervision and make sure that they feel welcome! Mom is in charge of making sure they have something comfortable to wear, and then one of us introduces the new plushie to the rest of the hug. We don’t expect everyone to remember everyone’s name! That’s what Mom is for!

We spent the evening watching Mom play on the internet. Are there any websites that you like to visit? Mom lets us go to the BearPlace and the Bear Club often. We read our blogs that we are subscribed to via Google Reader. She will also let us look things up on Wikipedia.   Mom has plenty more websites that she checks. We check Mom’s mail, go to Mom’s Livejournal, and check her Twitter feed. We also check her facebook page often.

I like browsing on the internet. Mom does not let me go online by myself. She says that there are things on the internet that are not meant for small bears. I am glad that I found all these blogs to read. She will let me read blogs by myself! I usually need help posting on my own blog. My patience with typing isn’t very long!

My mom and I helped my little sister Chloe set up her own blog on the Bear Club. I wanted her to stop asking me to post things on here—and Mom wanted her to have some place safe to write. She says that it is best for a little girl bear to have some place where things are read over before they’re allowed to be posted. It’s a mom thing, I guess.  But now instead of asking me to post things on this blog, she’s annoying me about checking her blog for comments. Sigh. Sisters!

Mom went to Build-a-Bear yesterday. She bought some clothes for the girls, but also bought me a new jacket. It’s supposed to be related to their Hal and Holly Moose movie. It feels down-filled and very warm. It also came with some very cool goggles. Mom says that they are skiing goggles. I told her that now she has to buy me some skis! She said that we’d wait till there’s snow on the ground and then she’d consider! But with the way the weather is like around here in Wisconsin, we’ll have quite a wait! I think I should get them now and practice skiing on piles of blankets, but she doesn’t think so! (Although BAB does have a snowboard. Hm!)

My mom has a cold. I am glad that bears don’t get colds. She seems to be pretty miserable unless she takes some medicine. I try to do my best to help her, but sometimes she does have to go to work—where I cannot go. Well, I have gone to her work once, but I had to stay in her backpack. (I did provide support, but it’s hard to really help.) I’m in charge of the regular bear duties—like comfort when Mom’s sick, but with the added on task of Kleenex supply. (It does get me off homework bear duty though—she’s in no mood to do chemistry!) What do you bears do to help your moms or dads through sickness?

A few days ago, Mom had Chloe, Foster, and myself downstairs to watch television and read books together. I thought that we should get our picture taken together! Foster is my older brother and Chloe is our little sister. Please pardon the clothes—it was late at night and we were mostly ready for bed! I think you can see the similarities between Foster and I, but not Chloe too much. Mom says that it is probably a good thing—you wouldn’t want a girl bear to look too much like a boy. Chloe says that she takes after our mom’s side of the family—and we obviously take after our dad’s. I really don’t know how that works, but I guess it really doesn’t matter.

On the Bear Club website, there are monthly photo challenges. There are ten different things, each given a difficulty factor. Mom says that we probably won’t do all of them but it is fun to try. This month’s photo challenges range from getting your photo taken next to a grandfather clock (which is one that we did) to getting tickled by an older person. It’s kind of fun to see other bears’ photos! Some of the bears get to go outside—one of them got to go to a fair to get their picture taken on a fair-ride! I would love to go to a fair! Have any of you been to a fair? I would love to be able to se the animals! I don’t think there would be wild bears there, but there would be plenty of different farm animals. I do like horses, cows, and poultry.

Mom has found a little bit of time to blog here today! I am becoming more and more fond of this Windows Live Writer thing. While I'm not sure I understand it all, it's still awfully cool. I always did like Mom's LiveJournal client. Everything was all in one place! Now I've got a program just like that!

Today I thought I would tell you about my sister, Chloe. She's the second bear to join our family. Mom bought her from Build-a-Bear, way back in 2006. She is a Curly Teddy II. I'm not quite sure what that means either, but Mom says it's important. Chloe is 3 years old, and likes to play with our siblings, who I will talk about later. I love my little sister, but I am glad that she has other plushies to play with. Sometimes she can be really loud and runs around. Mom says that she's got lots of energy and that is a good thing-- but I don't know about that!

Chloe likes all sorts of girly things. She likes unicorns, horses, and sparkly jewelry. She likes it when Mom buys her new clothes. She loves the bows that Mom puts on her ears. She wishes that they could be sparkly! Mom won't let her get her ears pierced until she's much older, so sparkly bows is as close and she's going to get!

She also likes having books read to her. Her favorite book is Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse, by Kevin Henkes. I admit that that book is one of my favorites too! We've read it so many times that Chloe can say almost all the Lilly parts all by herself-- even though she can't read very well yet!

Next time, I will tell you more about my best friend, Robinson. He's the next plushie that came into our family so he comes next!
