February 26th, 2016

It’s so cold where I live. We have weeks of sub zero weather. We then have a few days of okay weather to remind us how it could be.

For the rest of the world, that’s –12.4 degrees Celsius. Blah! Mom doesn’t want to go anywhere—and she won’t take me outside at all. (Well, we do go to her work, but I don’t think that counts!) Oliver doesn’t like it much either. No one wants to spend more than a few minutes outside.
Then every few weeks, there’s a period where the weather isn’t so cold. It’s like Mother Nature wants to remind us that the weather could be better.

Forty two (five degrees C)? All the snow will melt! But then a few days after that it will snow again, and be frigidly cold! Sigh. Sometimes, I wish my mom’s ancestors would’ve picked a warmer place to go!
But there’s enough griping about the weather! I found some funny teddy bear jokes to share with you all.

Do any of you have any great jokes! I’m not very good at remembering them, but I like reading them. What do you think? I think my favorite is ‘how do you start a teddy bear race,’ but Mom’s favorite is the ‘koka-koala’ one. (Although we know that koalas aren’t bears, they’re more of a wombat.)
I hope you all have a great week!

Febuary 19th, 2016

Today I’m going to tell you about one of my favorite websites to browse, Instagram! I love all the pictures of dogs! Mom loves the dog, book, and pretty landscape pictures.
But there aren’t a lot of plushies that have accounts! When I put ‘teddy bear’ into Instagram, lots of different things come up. An airline in Japan has a picture of some teddys on their way somewhere in a plane. There are a lot of pictures of little kids and their teddys. There are even quite a few of dogs and their teddys. There are some people who use teddys as decorations! And then there’s the people who make teddys for a living. There are a lot of people who use the tag but the picture doesn’t seem to have anything to do with teddy bears. (Defintely, oddly enough, not safe for work!)
We did find one after a lot of looking! His name is xiongtuotuo, and he looks like he is a very well traveled bear. It looks like he goes to all sorts of different places in Europe and the Middle East. There are even some places that look Russian!

Oh—another one! Here is a very handsome sloth who lives in Ireland. Mom recently watched a documentary about sloths, so we’re interested in them lately.
Do any of you have an Instagram account? Do you know of any plushie accounts? If you mention your account in a comment, Mom and I will follow!
I hope you’re all having a great day!

So I have some exciting news! My mom’s sister had her baby! I have a new cousin! His name is Graham. He was born in the beginning of January.
2016-01-07 Graham (5)
Mom took me to see him three times. He’s very little and very loud. He sleeps a lot. Mom says that in March, while Mom’s parents are away on their vacation, we’re going to be charge of the baby.

I’m not so sure about all his hollering, but he’s very cute and soft. Have any of you met a baby? This is the first baby that I’m going to spend a lot of time with.

He’ll probably pop up in the blog now and again. When we’re in charge of him for the week, Mom wants to go to Build-a-Bear. That’ll definitely be a picture moment!

Mom and I are doing pretty good about this blogging thing. Working ahead helps a lot!
Today I’m going to talk about things that make me happy. What makes you happy? My family and friends make me the most happy! I’m glad I have such great friends—and that my siblings aren’t so bad either! I have Milton, Robinson, Foster, and Caleb to keep me company. We spend a lot of time together in the car when Mom works.

I also love books, ice cream, and bright sunny days. I like tulips and blankets. I also like the color blue! I like going for car rides with Mom. I like pictures of dogs on Mom’s Instagram! Are there any internet things that you like? I spend a lot of time online with Mom.
Hope you all are having a great day!

January 29th, 2016

Mom and I have been thinking about what to post for this entry. We thought we might talk about our giraffe friend, Charlotte, but she’s at Mom’s sister’s house right now. Then while browsing, we came up with the idea of Garrison Keillor, but that’s more of a Mom thing than a me thing. I came up with Mom’s favorite internet past-time, her genealogy, but she says that’s more about her than me.

So we came up with one more thing. Geography—well, the geography of our little family at least. Mom is from Wisconsin. She has lived here her entire life. We live in an area called the Fox Valley. It has been settled for a long time. Native Americans settled around here as early as 7000 BC! (Mom’s ancestors arrived here in the late 1800s and 1900s.)

Mom says that I am from China. We’re not sure exactly where in China though. Her mom found me after I was brought to the United States. China is a very interesting place. There have been human like creatures there since anywhere from 250,000 to 2.24 million years ago! (We’re not so sure about stuffed bears!)
Do any of you know where you’ve came from? Mom and I love history!
I hope you’re all having a great day! I hope to hear from you soon!

January 22nd, 2015

So we’re writing this at the end of December. It’s all part of Mom’s plan to make sure that we keep on writing entries. But that means that we’re going to take three weeks to tell you all that we got a new computer for Christmas! It’s got a touch screen that Mom needs to train herself to actually use. It runs Windows 10, which we’re hesitantly all right with.
It means that we got to update to the newest version of Windows Live Writer. It’s open source, and finally updated! The orginial Windows Live Writer hadn’t been updated since 2012, which is practically ancient in the computer world. We’ve only started playing with it, but it’s behaving just as the old version did. So if you’ve got a brand new computer, this version is worth it! (At least right now!) Although Mom can’t get the spell check button to do anything but be grayed out. Hm. Maybe we spoke too soon!
2015-12-26 Foster
Well, this entry is really about Foster. Foster is my older brother. He was named after a character in a Joseph Conrad short story called Amy Foster! (Just like me!) We’re both Sterling promotional matrix bears. I came from a gardening store, but Foster was found at Goodwill. I was really glad when Mom found him. I did miss him a lot.
His favorite color is yellow. He says that he likes it because it’s bright! He likes leaves that turn bright yellow in the fall, and rubber ducks! He also likes sunflowers and yellow tulips! He likes playing cars with me, and will help the tinies move big things around. He would really like to meet Big Bird someday—he’s a bird and he’s yellow, so that makes Foster really happy!
Talk to you all next week!
