I GET TO GO OUT TODAY! I am going to meet Buttons! It’s my very first meetup! My mom and his mom have been emailing each other—we wanted to keep it a secret, but I don’t have to any longer! Wahoo!! I love the posts when Bob T. Bear, Dilly, Beanie, and Hammie all get to meet, and now it’s my turn! (Although going to meet all those friends is on my list too!)

I’m going to get all spiffy-ed up and Caleb’s gonna come with, and it’s going to be all fun! We’ll post plenty of pictures later, but I am too excited not to share now!

Mom’s sister wanted to go to the zoo to see the big cats. There are four of them.

This is a Bengal tiger. He or she was lounging in the hallway between the two cages. It didn’t look very comfortable, but who would argue with a tiger!

This is a white Bengal tiger. I’m pretty sure it’s a boy named Kenny. I think this looks like a much better place to sit!

This is the lioness. She was also showing Mom and her sister her belly.

And finally this is the lion, with the very unoriginal name of Leo. He was showing off for Mom’s sister, who was very much impressed!
Next time, the petting zoo animals! (My mom’s favorite part!)

My mom and her sister went to a little zoo near where we live. My mom loves zoos, mostly because she gets to take all sorts of interesting pictures!

This is a blue and gold macaw. Mom likes big birds like this parrot.

This is a white or umbrella cockatoo. This guy or girl was talking to Mom and her sister.
tn_2012-05-21 Special Memories Zoo (69)
This is a peahen. This bird kept on looking at Mom and her sister, closing one eye and then the other. Birds sometimes do this so their depth perception is clearer. She was basically doing it so she could get a good look at Mom!

This is an ostrich. Mom was surprised to see them. She’s been to the zoo lots of times and didn’t know that they were there. She had never seen an ostrich this close and was really impressed by their big dinosaur like feet!
Next time, we’ll post about the cats that live at the zoo!

Today via Twitter and Eldritch’s blog, I discovered that I was awarded an award! It was actually a double nomination! Kolo Martin gave it to me too! I’m a very lucky bear!

sunshineawar

As part of the award, there are ten questions to answer. Mom loves quizzes, so we’re okay with it!

Here we go!

1. My favorite number?- My favorite number is 17. It’s mostly because it was Mom’s favorite number when she was a little girl. She doesn’t remember why! Now she’s decided it’s interesting because it is a prime number. The fear of the number 17 is heptadecaphobia, which is a great word!

2. My favorite non-alcoholic drink?- Our favorite drink around here is Coca-Cola!

3. Facebook or Twitter?- Mom says that we have enough social networks to check, so she says no Facebook for me. She seems to like Facebook the most, but we have a program called Trillian that combines all of our Facebook and Twitter feeds and shows them as little pop-up windows as we browse around the internet, so we see both. (It’s actually a chatting program, but you can sign up your social networks that you can chat with, so it works peachy!)

4. My passion?- Books! Naps!

5. My favorite pattern?- Clouds in the sky? Tree leaves? Hm.

6. Favorite day of the week?- Since my mom works retail, we don’t really have a favorite day. Her days off vary, so I would have to say that my favorite day is any day she’s not at work!

7. Favorite flowers?- Tulips, roses, daisies, and apple blossoms!

I shall now tell you about five blogs that my mom and I read. I don’t know if they read my blog, but it’s the thought that counts! Most of the other award winners are the plushie blogs that we would’ve listed here, so we decided to go a different route!

1. Julie Zickerfoose- This lady likes birds and has a dog named Chet Baker. Chet Baker has his own Facebook page!

2. Dr. Scott Sampson’s Whirlpool of Life- This is the paleontologist from Dinosaur Train. He writes about paleontology and science.

3. Neil Gaiman- Certainly a very good author no matter what your favorite book genre is, but is also one of Mom’s favorite-ist people ever. (Well, we think he’s probably a very cool guy!)

4. Living with Anteaters- They don’t really explain why or how they got pet anteaters, but this lady has them!

5. Atlas Obscura- I don’t know if you can call this a blog, but they do post something nearly every day about interesting, off beat places that you can visit!

I hope this stuff is interesting to you! Mom went with her mom to Door County today, so we’re going to post some photos soon!

June 4th, 2012

My mom and the BJD kids went to another meet-up last weekend. I thought I would share a few pictures because I know that there are people who read my blog who like the BJD kids like Mom! Caleb went with too—since he is her travel bear!

tn_2012-06-02 Meetup Voyagers (1)

This time it was a little distance away. This meant that Mom and her friend had to start earlier. While Mom is a morning person, her friend is not, so that started the day a little late!

tn_2012-06-02 BJD Meetup (4)

This time, Mom didn’t take as many pictures. There were a lot of people there and not a lot of room. Mom isn’t very fond of pushing her way into groups of people, so she made do! On the Flickr photo page, you can see the dolls much better!

tn_2012-06-02 BJD Meetup (16)

Wren and Raven did get to meet someone as tiny as they were. This is apparently a little boy vampire. Mom said that she didn’t quite understand how he got dressed up in a dress with purple shoes, but it doesn’t really matter!

tn_2012-06-02 BJD Meetup (26)

This is what Mom worked on while everyone else was sewing and such. She bought Wren and Lark an itty bitty sewing machine a while ago, and decided that they need some supplies! So now they have their own fabric stash!

Mom wants me to tell Bob T. Bear that Build-a-Bear makes clothes for smaller bears. They’re part of their SmallFry collection. The bears that you get from BAB are only about six inches tall, but they’re for rather rotund bears. They might fit an eight inch bear too. They fit Caleb, but they’re rather tight!

Mom remembered that we haven’t shared her zoo pictures here yet, so that’s going to be the next blog entry! She went with her sister and Caleb to the zoo a few weeks ago and took lots of pretty pictures!

Later!

May 27th, 2012

Sigh. When Mom has tiring days at work, she never feels like helping me type. Things have been pretty quiet here though, so I guess I don’t have much to report.

Wren’s friend showed up. His name is Raven, and he is itty bitty.

tn_2012-05-10 Raven (4)

He’s kind of cute, I think, but he’s really high strung! He’s always bouncing around and doing things. He’s so high maintenance that Mom invited another doll home to help keep track of him.

tn_2012-05-24 Lark (1)

Meet Lark, Wren and Raven’s nanny/governess/au pair. Mom is letting her have some time off before they talk about what Lark’s going to do.  I think she’s going to have her hands full taking care of Raven, but what do I know! Mom says that they both need to go to school, but she doesn’t know of any place that would accept such tiny pupils!

After Mom took some photos off the camera and put them on the computer, we remembered that we forgot to tell you one big thing that happened. Mom took Milton, Caleb, and I INSIDE BUILD-A-BEAR! BAB was holding a 100 Million Friends Made event, and if you brought your BAB friend in, you got a free t-shirt. Mom carried us in a bag inside the mall. Milton and Caleb got to come out of the bag—Milton being a BAB, and Caleb was actually wearing BAB clothes. I was a bit miffed that she didn’t let me out of the bag, but then she reminded me that I am going to go on a HUGE outing in June! (Right, Buttons?!)

Mom says that it is getting near our bedtime, so I’m going to sign off here. I hope you all are having a good day!

Things have been pretty quiet around here. Mom works, and we all read and watch TV. She takes me and a few of my friends to work with her—we wait in the car for her lunch.

tn_2012-04-24 Jennerjohn Park (24)

Spring has struck Wisconsin. All sorts of plants are in bloom! The first trees that flower around here are apple trees. That picture is a crab apple tree that Mom found at a local park.

tn_2012-04-19 Spring Pear Blossoms (1)

Those are pear blossoms from our front yard. Mom loves taking pictures of flowers—especially ones that live around us!

tn_2012-04-20 Spring (3)

There also have been plenty of pretty skies to take pictures of. This one is over Partridge Lake in Waupaca County.

tn_2012-04-20 Princess

And of course, Princess, who always makes Mom smile!
